That which is held by Vidyārāja (Lord Hayagreeva) in His hand is actually the Original Book of Śāstra. It is the eternal Book of Ṛta and Satya; it is the most sacred and the purest. That alone is Śāstra. If any other text has to be called a Śāstra it must necessarily be compared with this Original Book alone. If it agrees, then it qualifies to be called a Śāstra; otherwise it is not a Śāstra.
