The Maharṣis, no doubt, sowed the seeds of Jnana. But when it is growing, the process of cultivation was lost on the way. The treasure handed over by them has disappeared. The dishonesty and lack of knowledge (ignorance) of the intermediaries are the prime reasons for this.
