"What is there in a Teertha (Holy River)? After all it is just water!" may be the contemptuous jargon of some people. But though it is water, there is energy behind it; take note of this before talking ill of it. For, by merely looking at water, matter may be lost! For example, although water contains electricity, is it not necessary to perform some operations to tap it out? In a similar manner, some functions need to be performed to transmute water into a teertha. Actually some good literature should be presented about it. Water should be transformed into teertha (holy water) through sublime sentiments. For this to happen, it has to undergo certain processes; internal teertha-bhaava accompanied by appropriate literature should flow into it to bring about this transformation.
