When a child catches hold of a piece of an earthen vessel it begins to play with it as if it is a real baby and celebrates a baby utsava; it induces a spirit of life into it and fondles it as if it is an infant . Thus the piece gets filled with Life. If someone wantonly throws it away, it wails that its little-one is lost. Why? The child's feelings should be understood; it is not merely a piece of tile for the child. It has projected its mental child in that piece. It is because of this that it loves or weeps for that piece of tile. In the same way, if we can place the Lord in the cradle of our Life and lead our lives with Him, then and only then it becomes an Utsava.
